Times of the Gentiles
And they shall fall by the
edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and
Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the
Gentiles be fulfilled. Luke
21:24
44 AD to 2015 AD
And saw heaven opened, and a
certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit
at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Acts 10:11
And they of the circumcision which
believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on
the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:45
When they heard these things, they
held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the
Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Acts 11:18
Andy Hunt as posted on Five Doves, (7/22/06), has researched the
beginning of the times of the Gentiles when God first brought the
Gospel to the Gentiles through Peter as being 44 AD. Adding
2000
360-day years to this (1971 solar years) and one arrives at 2015 AD for
the ending of the times of the Gentiles. A strong argument is the
times of the Gentiles will not end until Jesus Christ returns
after the tribulation to become King of Kings and Prince of
Peace, hopefully in 2015.
Numbers, such as presented in Arithmetic of God,
can also give us much support and insight when properly applied.
For
example, the number 44 is said to stand for "perdition". At the
end of the times of the Gentiles, if this is the same time that Jesus
Christ returns, the beast and false prophet will go into perdition.
Aas pointed out before, we are told over and over again in Revelation 20:2-7 that
the next age will be 1,000 years long. When something is
important, it
is stated over and over again. In this case the two words
"thousand
years" are stated six times in six consecutive verses in Revelation,
the sixty-sixth book of the Bible. No where else in the Bible is
there
a reference to a "thousand years" being the length of the next
age.
Why six? Because perhaps this brings to a close six thousand
years?
The seventh thousand is the seventh day millennial rest for the Earth.
Is it Biblical to compare the last thousand years with the last day of
the week, the day of rest? Well, the phrase "thousand years"
besides
the six previously cited, is found in only three other verses in the
Bible, and all three give us insight, some even explicitly in comparing
a thousand years with a day, two thousand years with two days, and all
seven thousand days leading up to eternity with the seven days of the
week:
For a thousand years in thy sight are
but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Psalms 90:4
Yea, though he live a thousand years
twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
Ecclesiastes 6:6
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this
one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day.
II Peter 3:8
The start of the "2 day" times of the Gentiles would be at the end of
the fourth day or four thousand years. Notice that the start of
this
time would be in 44 AD. Notice that the place in the Bible
describing
the beginning of this time is in Acts, the 44th book of the
Bible. Notice that this time may end at the time of the 44th
president of the United States. Notice that it was 44 360-day
years from 6/7/1967 that brought us possibly 2 years into the final 7
to 10/19/2010 and a possible antichrist candidate revealing
himself. (Remember Joseph revealing himself to his brothers 2
years into the final 7 bad years of famine.)
5 BC to
1967 AD
Jerusalem was trodden down, burned, and destroyed by the Gentiles in 70
AD. It remained in the possession of the Gentiles until June 7,
1967. On that date, the nation of Israel in less than 20 years
from when it was recreated, regained their capital and heart,
Jerusalem. Although Gentiles still live in Jerusalem, did this
event mark the end of the times of the Gentiles? Good
question. The Gentiles still reign over the World. Jesus
Christ has not set up His millennial kingdom. But, there was at
least a partial fulfillment. The interesting point here is that
seven weeks of 360 day years or 49 prophetic years as described in
Daniel's 70 week prophecy, separate both June 7, 1967 from September
23, 2015, (Yom Kippur), and 44 AD from 5 BC. The interesting
point here is that the most generally accepted time for the death
of Herod the Great is in late March / early April of 4 BC. The
birth of Jesus Christ would be several months before which would place
it in 5 BC. So this may also allow us to pinpoint the conception
and birth of Jesus Christ around 5 BC.
697 BC to
1968 AD
In one sense, Jerusalem has been trodden down by the Gentiles for a
period of four times 666 years. The first count starts at the end
of the reign in 697 AD of Hezekiah, the last righteous king of
Judah. It goes through the Babylonian Gentile captivity, the
conquering of the Medes and Persians, and the allowing of the Jews to
return and rebuild Jerusalem. And it ends in 31 BC with the
battle of Actium when the Roman Gentiles now control Jerusalem.
This next period starts in 31 BC and extends another 666 years with the
Roman Gentiles trodding down Jerusalem through the birth and death of
Jesus Christ, the burning and razing of Jerusalem in 70 AD and through
to the Saracen conquest in 636 AD. Jerusalem is seiged resulting
in the Caliph, Umar the Great entering the city on foot. He
guarantees Christians freedom of religion but prohibits Jews from
living in the city. Now adding 666 times 2 solar years and one
arrives at 1968 AD. Realize these dates go back a total 2664
years and are within roughly half a year of hitting June 7, 1967.
